About Us

Emotive Designs was first setup as an alias to use on my expanding portfolio of work, and has stuck with me ever since.

The name was chosen to represent the blood, sweat and tears put into the sites I develop and maintain, and hence Emotive Designs : Designs with Emotion.

The Emotive Designs team is currently just myself - Oli Mortimer, who provides sites for a wide range of clients, varying from local bands, worldwide bands and shops.

Oli Mortimer - 23 years

Having left Sixth Form (A-Levels) at 18, I left to pursue a full time career, hoping to quickly get into a web design company. Unfortunately this didn't happen, due to having no 'commercial experience' to hand, and instead pursued a career in ICT, by moving through the ranks within XMA Limited. Starting as a Data Entry Adminstrator in 2002, I moved into a Stock Audit Adminstrator role after 6 months, then into the ICT Department as an ICT Helpdesk Engineer 2½ years later.

In March 2007 (1½ years later), I was promoted to ICT Systems Engineer, which involves being the lead engineer for the servers and systems for the 300+ XMA users, and implementing new servers as and when required.

A requirement of being an Engineer at XMA, is to become Microsoft Certified - my current certifications are MCP, MCDST and 1 exam away from becoming an MCSA.

Alongside my full time job, I continue to design and develop websites for myself and clients under the Emotive Designs alias, hoping to eventually fulfill my dream of becoming a full time web designer.
